Heathbank Day Service offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, giving support within the centre and within the community. We provide care and support for adults aged 18 years and over with cerebral palsy or similar conditions. We encourage people from multicultural backgrounds to join our service and meet the needs required.

Heathbank is open from 8am until 4pm Monday to Friday. We have a small mini bus that that takes three wheelchairs and seats 4 people. We use this vehicle to access community resources and outings.   We attend various activities within the community, rebound therapy, cinema, and various places of interest. Also provided are many in-house activities, movement to music, bingo, cooking etc. We have a well-equipped sensory room that provides stimulation, relaxation, and aromatherapy once a week which takes place in this room. Outside we have a large decked garden area so service users can enjoy fresh air and lunch under two large gazebos.

We make every effort to make our service "Person Centred" which means our goals are to meet the individuals needs.
How do we do that? We ask our service users what are their interests and what they expect from us as a service. This could be in the region of exercise, swimming, craft etc.

Our open/concert days are always enjoyable with raffles & stalls and a day were parents/carers could get together for the afternoon.

We have close relationships with physiotherapists, regular dental visits and community nurses to advice us on meeting health needs. We also have regular contact with speach & language therapists who deliver help and training around communication.
Each service user has his/her own key worker.

All Heathbank support workers are qualified or working towards N.V.Q 2 & 3 in care. Also training in First Aid, Health & Safety, Moving & Handling along with many other courses. We have received training in specialised areas like Epilepsy, Madazolom administration, Dysphasia.
We continue to attend courses and updates so we can give a correct service to meet the individual's needs.
